TRAVELLING TO NORTH INDIA – WHERE TO GO AND WHEN TO COME
One of the most visited regions in the country. The North of India has always been a very popular region with comfort travellers and backpackers alike.
Pick any direction to go in North India, it’s worth it!
North India has a lot to offer and the sheer variety of the region is unbelievable. You could choose to experience the formidable forts and the pretty palaces in the West (along with The Taj Mahal!) while staying in home-stays to get a local perspective (Rajasthan, Agra and Delhi). Click here to read more on Henning’s two week trip across North India and homestay experience in Rajasthan.
There’s so much more to North India than Rajasthan though, you could travel East to have an intense experience in Varanasi and further towards the North-Eastern regions of the country to see the diversity of the country at it’s best.
North India is also home to the Himalayas and visiting and exploring the Himalayan mountains is always a good option. A trip to Leh and Ladakh in the northernmost state of Kashmir is also a great option if you crave mountains and nature.
We would love to help you navigate this vast and multifaceted country in an individual, flexible and transparent travel planning process with you in control. Get in touch with us by filling out the questionnaire to start planning your trip to India.

The communication between Abbas and myself was excellent. He is very professional, pays attention to details, and answers inquiries in a timely fashion. I gave Abbas our itinerary, and he made it work and added his insights and suggestions to our trip. YAY! I had some of our trip plan; but Abbas made it super easy to plan the remainder of our trip.

It’s been a few months since our trip to India and we miss it desperately! Hands down, best trip we’ve ever taken. Posting this as a BIG thank you to India Someday and their lovely team who helped us plan everything from go to woah.
Confession: I’d never used an online travel agent before. I always plan trips myself, so I was a bit nervous to let go of the reins. I did a lot of research and India Someday kept popping up with glowing reviews. So now I’m adding my own because they really deserve the kudos, and I want others to feel confident working with them too (even if you’re a holiday-planning control freak like me).
I had a rough itinerary in mind and mostly needed help with train bookings (because booking as a foreigner can be tricky – IYKYK). India Someday were super flexible and happy to work however we needed. They organised all of our transfers, and while I was set on booking our accommodation myself, they suggested a few hidden gems I wouldn’t have found otherwise. We ended up with a great mix.
From the first email, Sameer was amazing! Always patient, thoughtful and full of great advice, it felt like planning a trip with a very organised local friend. We must have exchanged hundreds of emails (I’m sure he’d agree), and honestly, I kind of miss them (cue post-holiday blues).
While we were on the road, Aaliya was our local contact and always just a message away, even for silly questions like “How do we know which train carriage to get on?”. Having someone local to reach out to made a huge difference. We might still be standing on that train platform if it weren’t for Aaliya.
All the drivers India Someday arranged were lovely, punctual and helpful. Special shoutout to Vaneesh, who picked us up after an overnight train and gave us a spontaneous early-morning tour of Bangalore. We’re convinced driving is actually his side hustle and professional selfie-taking is his real calling. He was brilliant.
This is probably the most effusive review I’ve written yet, but it’s all very well deserved. We’re already dreaming of our next trip to India, and when we go, we’ll definitely be emailing Sameer.
