HENNING’S TWO WEEK TRIP ACROSS NORTH INDIA AND HOMESTAY EXPERIENCE IN RAJASTHAN route & tour description

New Delhi,Delhi
Agra,Uttar Pradesh
Jaipur,Rajasthan
Pushkar,Rajasthan
Chandelao,Rajasthan
Jodhpur,Rajasthan
Udaipur,Rajasthan

On his trip to India, Henning wanted to explore the beautiful region of North India. He was keen on visiting the Golden Triangle which comprises of Delhi, Agra and Jaipur but not limit it to just that. He also wanted to experience more of Rajasthan in places like Pushkar, Jodhpur and Udaipur.

Of course he was interested in the main sights and monuments that North India has to offer. The Red Fort in Delhi, the Taj Mahal in Agra, the Amer Fort in Jaipur, the Mehrangarh Fort in Jodhpur or the City Palace in Udaipur. However, he emphasized at the very beginning of the planning process that it is locals and their stories that fascinates him. This is what would be a highlight of his trip to this beautiful country.

At India Someday, we customize trips to suit your needs. Accordingly, we took his interests into consideration and planned a typical two-weeks North India travel route for him. A route that would take him from Delhi to Udaipur through Agra and Rajasthan. We also made him stay entirely at homestays. One night was planned outside of Jodhpur in a small village called Chandelao. This was done to give him a feel of the rural life and a short break from the busy cities.

We also gave him tips for activities in each place like a slum tour in Delhi or a cooking class in Udaipur. This way he was able to meet many locals and make friends.

This trip to the North India can be modified to fit any budget. Below you’ll find approximate costs for different types of travellers and an example of an itinerary. If you have a fixed time period, then we’ll add or remove destinations accordingly. Click on Plan Your Trip and we can get started!

HENNING’S TWO WEEK TRIP ACROSS NORTH INDIA AND HOMESTAY EXPERIENCE IN RAJASTHAN Tour itinerary

Day 1-2

New Delhi

Stay at Life Tree bed and breakfast

Delhi is the capital of India, a city rich in history and culture. Delhi is not only an interesting place to visit but is also ideally located to travel to a lot of other worthwhile places to see in northern India. Delhi is known for it's excellent metro service so it's very easy to get from one place to another.

Day 3-3

Agra

Stay at Mohini Homestay

Agra, most popularly known for the Taj Mahal, is a favorite amongst travellers. Agra is known for its beautiful monuments, courtyards and mosques. The Agra fort is a lesser known but also beautiful sight you must visit during your stay in Agra. The whole city offers that incomparable Mughal vibe and therefore a trip to Agra is worth it.

Day 4-5

Jaipur

Stay at Jaipur Friendly Villa

Painted pink to welcome the Prince of Wales in 1853, Rajasthan’s capital city is chock-full with forts, palaces and temples. Shopaholics can lap up traditional footwear, textiles, crafts and gems. Partake in several festivals including the Elephant Festival in spring, when pachyderms pout and prance around.

Day 6-7

Pushkar

Stay at Kanhaia Haveli, Pushkar

Maybe on the first look it looks just like a small town lost in the dessert but Pushkar, a pilgrimage town halfway between Jaipur and Jodhpur has a lot to offer. It has an equally spiritual vibe like Varanasi but is far less crowded and chaotic

Day 8-8

Chandelao

Stay at Chandelaogarh

Chandelao is renowned for its fiercely independent people, its colorful clothing, its handicrafts and its traditional way of life. Chandelao is a village of about 2,000 people, where majority of the people are involved in agriculture. Experience authentic village life with mud bricked houses and the friendly ambiance.

Day 9-10

Jodhpur

Stay at Mohan Niwas

Due to its numerous blue houses in the old part of Jodhpur, this city in the dessert is often referred to as the “Blue City”. The second biggest city in Rajasthan is famous for the Mehrangarh Fort, one of the largest in India, and is an interesting old city to experience.

Day 11-13

Udaipur

Stay at Chandra Niwas

Udaipur has been called many things: Venice of the East, the White or the Lake City and the most romantic place in India. One thing is for sure: when in Rajasthan you can’t miss this town with its white marble temples and palaces, its rooftop restaurants with perfect views of the lake as well as the beautiful surrounding landscapes .
