Varanasi,Uttar Pradesh

Stephanie travelled to India to experience its spirituality. So she chose to go on spiritual trip to India that covered some of India’s most religious places. It encompassed Sikhism, Buddhism and Hinduism all rolled into one trip. In her two weeks across India she visited four cities. From the fields of Punjab, to the Himalayan mountains, the chaos of Delhi and Varanasi.

The Spiritual Trip

Stephanie’s trip started at Delhi and then visited Dharamshala. Apart from being home to the Dalai Lama McLeod Ganj is also popular for being a peaceful town to relax in. You can go on a lot of interesting short treks (eg: trek to Triund) from here and hang out in the quaint village of Dharampur.

Taking a chauffeur driven car or local bus to Amritsar, Stephanie got to enjoy some of the best food in India. She visited the beautiful and calming ambiance of the Golden Temple; the most important site in Sikhism. Amritsar is also known for its border ceremony with Pakistan.

Next she travelled to Rishikesh, the Yoga capital of the world. With adventure activities like rafting and bungee jumping and lastly Varanasi, one of the oldest cities in civilization and probably the best example of co-existence in the country.

This route is ideal for travellers wanting to spend time in North India. It has Rishikesh and Dharamshala if you’re looking for serenity. If it’s architectural wonders you seek, the Golden Temple will fulfill you. And, if you’re looking for an intense cultural experience, then Varanasi will be your favourite!

In terms of travel, Stephanie used a combination of internal flights, train rides, a few local buses and a chauffeur driven car on this trip.
