“Get a broader understanding of what life is like in the slums of Delhi, with Reality Tours and Travels. The tour take guests through Sanjay Colony, a slum establishment built on 25 acres of land, in South Delhi. The daily walks generally accommodate up to 6 people on a daily basis, but also cater to larger groups on request. Reality Slum Tours offer multiple packages which include a general 1 hour and 45 minutes walking tour of Sanjay Colony.

The Sanjay Colony Slum Tour first takes its guests to get a glimpse of how inhabitants partake in Clothes Recycling & Manufacturing. Guests are then taken to a Hindu Temple to give them an understanding of the significant role that religion plays in the lives of the residents. Among other things, guests also get to enjoy a panoramic view of Sanjay Colony from a rooftop. Reality Tours and Travels also offer a package where guests can have lunch in a local family’s home. “

See a different side of Delhi by visiting a slum—Sanjay Colony. Going on a guided tour is a safe way to visit the area, and means you won’t get lost in the maze-like surroundings. Visit a local school, temples, homes, and small businesses, and hear stories about local residents, community spirit, and what life is like living in a slum.

Slum tour was an amazing experience and fascinating to see how the people go about their lives in Sanjay Colony. We also did Street Food Tour which includes sightseeing in Old Delhi and the opportunity to try lots of different street food. Highly recommend both tours and huge thanks to Sagar who was an excellent guide

This is a very good , value for money tour in Delhi. I took the morning tour option and was met by my guide, Hewa, at the Connaught Place Railway station at 9am. We took the Delhi MRT to the Colony which took about 40 minutes with one change of lines. Hewa gave me a very comprehensive background to the colony. We walked through the streets from the local station. The factories and industries which exist in the area were pointed out and the improving conditions and support provided by the Indian Government also highlighted. We weaved away to the centre of the area, passing trough the narrow streets stopping to visit a house, shop, restaurant and climb to the top of one multi-tenanted building for a view over the colony. We finished the tour with a visit to the headquarters of the not-for -profit organisation which runs the tours. Hewa then escorted me back to the station with clear instructions for a return to the centre of Delhi. I had also booked an afternoon Food Tour of Delhi withe same group which made for a very active day. I would recommend this as a excellent tour to do.

We did the slum tour with Sammy It was a great experience. Sammy was very attentive and often checked if we had any questions. We learnt a lot on this tour and would recommend it.

Please note we have a strict no-photography policy while in the slum (to ensure the privacy of the residents) and advise customers to wear covered shoes, as some areas can be dirty. We request you dress modestly (shoulders and chest covered, clothing below the knee, nothing too tight or revealing.)
