“Lucknow is known to be a street food haven and a place where meat lovers can treat their taste buds to the famed Nawabi style cuisine. The Tornos Culinary Walk takes you to some of the best street food stalls in Lucknow. A walk which starts from Akbari Gate, guests are taken on a 1.5 hours long walk which starts at 07:00 PM. The guides at Tornos ensure you only get to taste the best of Awadhi cuisine to have the ultimate gastronomical experience.

Guests need not worry about personal hygiene as the guide would be equipped with wet-wipes for each guest. Tornos makes sure their guests don’t face inconvenience in any way, by having a dining set which includes forks and other basic cutleries. Their guides always carry bottles of mineral water too, so guests need not worry about anything. Tornos recommends their guests to have a light lunch to be able to make the most of the walk.

I recently went on this culinary tour and highly recommend it. The food is incredible (that's an understatement - probably the best biryani I'll ever have...), and you get to sample the best of Awadhi cuisine in various restaurants and food stalls you might not have otherwise discovered, scattered as they are throughout the winding lanes of old Lucknow. Culinary delights aside, it was also a pleasure just being guided through this vibrant, dynamic, and fascinating area at night (especially being a solo female traveller). The best part, however, is the guide - Cyrus is not only extremely knowledgable about Lucknawi food, traditions and the evolution of the Lucknawi "dastarkhwan," he is passionate about this unique cuisine, and will tell you where to find the secret spices that will help you recreate at home the magic and delicate blend of flavors of the food you taste on the tour (or at least try...) :) Don't hesitate to go on this tour, it is sure to be a highlight of your visit to Lucknow and India!

It was one of the most memorable highlights of our Indian holiday and has sparked a new fascination with Indian cuisine and thoughts of returning to India again soon.We would never have taken such a venture into the local food markets without this tour but it turned out to be an absolutely fabulous experience. Food was AWESOME.

Fabulous foodI am otherwise a great admirer of Indian food and thought that I knew a lot about it, till I took this walk. The chef who led this I am told is the managing director of the company that operates it and an authority on the subject of local food (Pratic was his name, but not sure though). I could realise he is a well read person. I must say he gave us a great insight and food would surely not have been the highlight without having him with us and giving us so much information on what we ate - how it was cooked and why at all it was cooked that way. The shops where we ate were all average looking (not fancy at all) but definitely original eateries by all means, where actually the stuff is cooked at its the best. This particular tour is a work of great research and I am sure a lot of work has gone in to it to make this available to us. Fabulous food, great guided food tour with no parallel.
