Stay at the backyards in Goa

Far away from the frenzied tourist haunts, experience the burst of life that is Goa at Olaulim Backwaters. Five rustic cottages unique in size and decor share one similarity- they are all in harmony with nature, each making the best of locally extracted elements like bamboo, local stone, coconut wood and palm leaves. The cottages are all air-cooled, constructed to best allow the natural sunlight and Goan winds to filter through.

Explore the shimmering backwaters as your kayak creates hushed ripples on the water’s surface. Cycle down the vibrant lanes, or ask the in-resident Goan owners to get you in touch with eco-conscious adventure sports providers. The family itself is warm and welcoming, in the true Goan style of hospitality. The meals you will eat are exquisite and unmatched in authenticity, sourced from fresh seafood and locally grown vegetables, prepped on a traditional wood-fire.

While the scenic backwaters sustain you, major beaches are a 30-minute drive away in case they beckon. With your meals served by the poolside, enjoy a scenery painted by the trees and Goan sky, with the sights and sounds of authentic Goan life to keep you company at Olaulim.

Goa

One of India’s most popular vacation spots, Goa is a state that truly embraces the spirit of enjoyment to the fullest. It is known most for its beaches, the popular ones being Calangute, Colva, Baga, Anjuna and Vagator. Goan cuisine is delicious, and is another factor that sets this tiny state apart from others with it's sea food speciality.

Day 1-3

Churches, markets, night clubs, and beaches galore, Goa is teeming with things to do. Get your fill of the sun along the stretch of beaches that line its coast. Visit the Bom Jesu church, the St. Francis of Assissi church and the Se Cathedral from among the several churches here, or explore the south at various water sport centres in Palolem and Cavellossem beaches where you can enjoy banana rides, jet skiing, boat rides, dolphin trips, and parasailing. Visit the Anjuna flea market on Wednesday at Chapora, or the Mapusa market on Friday for some fun interactions with locals. Don't miss out on treating yourself to deliciously fresh seafood at any of the beach-side restaurants! End your day at any pub close to the beach you're at as Goa has many of these.
